Rosetta AI for Slack is a Chrome extension that provides AI-powered
translation for Slack Web messages. This policy explains what data we
handle and how we protect your privacy.
Data We Process
- Message content you choose to translate, including drafts when translate-as-you-type is enabled.
- Language preferences and provider settings stored in
chrome.storage.
- Account information used for authentication (for example, email and user ID) if you sign in.
- Billing metadata processed by our payment provider if you purchase a plan.
How Data Is Used
- Translations are performed by AI translation services you configure.
- Only the text you choose to translate is sent to your selected provider.
- Translation requests may be sent directly to your provider or routed through our backend for authentication and billing.
- We never sell your data or use message content for advertising or model training.
Data Storage
- Settings and API keys are stored locally in your browser via
chrome.storage.
- We may retain minimal operational logs necessary to maintain service reliability and security.
- We do not store message content beyond what is needed to process a translation.
Data Sharing
- Data is shared only with the translation provider you select to generate a translation.
- Authentication data may be shared with Firebase for sign-in.
- Billing metadata may be shared with Paddle for checkout and invoicing.
Your Choices
- You can change providers or disable translation at any time in the extension settings.
- You can remove stored data by uninstalling the extension or clearing site/extension data.
